Pssst… Are you sitting on a goldmine? Chances are, you have some pieces that hold significant monetary value. Especially if they’re made of gold or platinum or are signed by a major jewelry designer or brand.

There’s only one way to know for sure—bring your jewelry to our studio so we can have a look. We can also provide prepaid insured labels shipping labels so that you can easily send the goods to us for review. After review, we schedule another in-person meeting or give you call to discuss. And everything can be done virtually if needed.
There are a number of ways we can help you make the most of your jewelry collection, whether you’ve inherited a large estate or are wondering about just a handful of pieces in your jewel box.
Read on for the full range of services we provide.
Assessment & Evaluation
No pile is too big—we want to see everything! Our review of your items will involve a comprehensive evaluation of your collection, categorizing its contents to suggest a plan of action that will yield you the most promising returns. We might advise that you insure select jewels from the point of view of long-term investment or suggest…
Liquidation
We offer our clients multiple avenues for liquidation depending upon the items, including sales of individual pieces or collections on our own or in concert with industry partners and top-tier auction houses. We might recommend dissembling the jewel for loose gem resale. Gold and platinum melt are available for immediate recovery.
Jewelry Redesign
Don’t love your mother’s 1940s diamond cocktail ring? We get it—and can advise on how to repurpose the diamonds as part of a new design (check out Instagram for some of our favorite jewelry redesign projects). We love jewelry redesign projects of all kinds but have found that they are wonderful way to divide up an inherited jewelry estate equitably. For example, if three sisters were to inherit that same 1940s diamond cocktail ring, we would work closely with all three parties to create new pieces of jewelry for each sister to enjoy. It’s a fun, collaborative, and very modern approach to equitably distributing a jewelry asset, while also producing cherished new keepsakes with direct ties to the original owner.

Appraisals & Estate Planning
Upon review of your jewelry, we may recommend obtaining a formal appraisal. A jewelry appraisal tends to take longer and, with some exceptions, is most often sought for estate purposes. We will collaborate with your estate lawyer and constituents to develop a strategic plan that meets the needs and objectives of all parties equitably while optimizing the current value of the collection. Find out more about how appraisals work at 21c Designs here. Once you have the appraisal, you can proceed according to the avenues discussed above, whether you decide to liquidate or embark on a jewelry redesign project.
We look forward to seeing your treasures, hearing your stories, and assisting you on this journey. Let’s get together soon!
